About Us

Surrounded by natural bushland highlighted by the vibrant yellow wattle, The Rocks restaurant, a stand alone sandstone building with soaring cathedral ceiling, looks onto impressive granite boulders, spot lit dramatically for night time viewing. Inside, soft music and ambient lighting soothes and relaxes. With your comfort assured and faced with a menu where all the dishes sound equally delicious, the only challenge is choosing what to eat.

With the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread from the wood fired oven wafting out of the kitchen you might be tempted to munch on some crusty bread served with two dipping sauces or with garlic butter and balsamic oil while you decide. From the entrée selection try the wok seared calamari, or perhaps the Roquefort tart … that’s if you can pass up on the pan seared lamb fillet with fried Halloumi or the baked prawns and fetta in a rich tomato sauce, just to mention a few.

Mains include Lamb Shank pie and the succulent tender Bangalow Sweet Pork. Then there’s the delicious Confit of Duck which sounds mouth wateringly good, as does the fish of the day, pasta with prawns and smoked salmon, the meltingly tender Eye Filet Steak or the thick char grilled rib on the bone. Vegetarians are not forgotten with choices such as roasted Vegetable stack, Tagliatelle pasta, fried Halloumi or Roquefor tart. And do try to save room for some White Chocolate and Cointreau Mousse, Crème Brulee, Baked Stanthorpe apple, homemade ice-cream and other equally tempting delights. Reservations are essential for dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 6pm.

Chef Erwin Erbel

Stanthorpe is privileged to now have The Rocks Restaurant under the management of Chef Erwin Erbel.
